I loved your paragraph about "Homeland Security assholes." Those requirements need to be put in place. :)

Alexis – it sounds to me like you're a strong candidate for heading the soft drugs initiative. Can I put you down for the topless sun bathing too?

Joanna – I like that system. The infrastructure is already there with our Go To cards.

Chris – Welcome. Spend all of August and September outside so you have good memories come February.

Ashlie – I'm more of an idiot savant.

Good luck with that. It'd certainly make Minneapolis a better place for me to move to in Aug.

Small cash incentives can go a long way.
My employer's health plan now rewards me with money off a gym membership if I go to the gym a certain number of times a month; I swipe my card, and the computer logs how many times I've been and sends the info for me.

If you ride public transportation a certain number of days/month, you should be able to accumulate frequent rider miles that you could redeem for cool prizes or reduced fare.

I'm all for pedestrianizing Nicollet Mall and other stretches in other 'hoods on the weekends; that sounds awesome. Apparently, this is commonplace in Mexico City, as well.

I'll need some clarification on soft drugs versus hard drugs, however, and will need to know what leads you to conclude which are which. Alcohol, as you know, is one of the most biologically destructive substances out there. Heroin, by comparison, has little to no detrimental effects on the human body post-use. Extended use of manufactured drugs like pharmaceutical painkillers leave the organs in a swiss cheese-like state, while marijuana is still the safest natural analgesic known to man. In fact, you can overdose on aspirin tablets, but it's humanly impossible to overdose on weed.
